The cue word at CASology this week is"bloom".
I made a mask with my large circle punch and used pastels to shade the background.
To get the different shades of blue I "stamped off" the ink twice to get a paler image. Remember to breathe heavily on it to remoisten the stamp when you "stamp off".
Thanks for looking!
AddictedToCAS has a "rainbow" theme; MyTimeToCraft wants the inside decorated; CASualFridays has tic-tac-toe (birthday, bling, punches); Crafts4Eternity has tic-tac-toe (ribbon, scraps, bling); TotallyPapercrafts wants CAS and OurCreativeCorner has anything goes.
I punched the tiny hearts from scraps using the Owl Builder Punch.
The inside tiny stars are from the Itty Bitties stamp set.
Hope you had a great weekend!
Using this week's CAS(E)thisSketch; ChristmasCardThrowdown wants to see red and white and CraftyHazelnut wants to see a star on your Xmas card.
The sentiment is from the Pennant Parade stamp set.
PolkaDoodles has an "anniversary" theme this week; AddictedToStamps and SweetStampin want CAS.
MakeMyMonday wants "anything but a card" and FridayMashUp wants a set of cards.
Here's a box of notecards I made using the Happy Hello Simply Sent card kit I got free during Saleabration. The kit came with pre-cut cards, envelopes, embellishments, rhinestones & twine to make 8 cards.
Making the box
If you want to have a go, I made it as follows:
Place a card landscape direction on your Simpy Scored with the centre lined up against 6"
Score a line at 5 3/4" and another at 6 1/4"
Next place the card portrait direction with the centre lined up against 6"
Score a line at 3 7/8" and again at 8 1/8"
Trim the white edge off the left and right sides
Cut the middle strip at either side to enable you to fold it up to make a box shape
Put sticky strip on the sides as shown and assemble your box.
LessIsMore wants a one layer card with a coloured background; OLW this week wants a 3" one layer card; SweetStampin wants CAS; Let'sCraft&Create wants a card "for the girls" and JustUsGirls wants a challenge using white ink.
The Reason To Smile stamp set is ideal for layering. It has a solid background stamp which I inked with Island Indigo (the same colour as my card stock) and an outline stamp which I inked in the lighter Pool Party and then stamped a second time with Stazon White. I also used a Marina Mist pastel crayon to blur the edges a bit and added some sparkle.
The sentiment is from the Just Believe set inked in Basic Grey.
For the first time in ages I have a free weekend - yippee! Which means lots of time crafting!!
Using this week's RetroSketch, StampinForTheWeekend wants to see die cuts/punches, StampinSensations wants embossing and texture, MyTimeToCraft wants sentiment as the focus and CAS-ualFriday has tic-tac-toe (I went for birthday-bling-dies).
Long time, no blog ... I've missed my crafting! Life, work, illness, children off school ... Where has the time gone!
Let'sCraft&Create want to see flowers.
C.R.A.F.T.challenge wants a project with "Queen for a Day/Fantasy/Bling it Up/Land of Make Believe".
CraftyRibbons has "anything goes" with ribbons.
CraftingForAllSeasons has no stamps allowed.
The large papier mâché initial is from Hobbycraft. I spray painted it with some gold paint & then had loads of fun "blinging" it! Yes, I realise, that's technically not a word but it conveys the right idea!
I used the Boho Blossoms punch to layer lots of flowers, then glittered and curled ribbon to my heart's content.
Here's to the weekend!
Caryn has updated her blog and to celebrate she's giving away some blog candy.
She has a lovely CAS style - why not check it out here!
LessIsMore has 'CASE it' this week. I was inspired by Jen's banner, beige colour & paper piercing.
SirStampALot wants cards for special occasions and AddictedToStamps has 'anything goes'.
The little clover stamp is from the Itty Bitties set - there are 56 (yes 56, that's not a typo!) images covering all occasions: Xmas, Easter, Halloween, Valentines, Baby, Good Luck, Flowers, Leaves, Animals, Birds, Insects, Banners etc
