Embossed love hearts

An anniversary card based on the sketch over at Stamping 411
A bit of stamping in versamark & black embossing powder, edging in gold embossing powder, a couple of layers of clear embossing powder, cutting & matting et le voila!

Floral Wreath & Butterflies

Based on sketch FLT83 over at CAS and Color Throwdown combo #185 of limeade, regal rose, grey and black.

I used various sized circle masks to stamp the floral wreath using the swirl & floral circle from Everything Eleanor and parts of the floral stamp from the Fresh Vintage Set.  Matted on a piece of Regal Rose and a couple of embossed butterflies.

Dotty Calypso Coral & Scallops

SAB is drawing to a close - just a couple of days left to get your hands on these gorgeous papers for FREE!  I found another card that I made for a sketch challenge (freshlymadesketches #20) but completely forgot to post!  I have a soft spot for dots - as you can see!

Less is More Hearts

Over at Less Is More the challenge is to combine 3 previous challenges - I've managed 4 with metallic (week 31), monochrome (week 18), hearts (week 36) and embossing (week 15).  The sketch is #4 from Retro Sketches rotated.  I inked up a couple of the hearts from the stamp set to sprinkle to the left of the main stamped image in keeping with the sketch. The sentiment is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes set.

Geometric Birthday Wishes

The play-date-cafe-challenge pdcc123 calls for a colour combo of lime, tangerine, teal and denim.  I found these textured pieces of card in my stash of off-cuts and cut them into triangles using the Pennant Builder punch.  The teal input comes with a strip of Island Indigo card and a sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes.

LIM - Masked Flowers

Another card for LIM with masking and "white space and a clean and simple design"

I only bought the stamp yesterday (it's a retired SU one, not got a clue what it's called) but thought it would come in handy for silhouettes and masking - perfect!  I added some glitter to the flower heads (looks rather pretty in real life but of course, doesn't show up on the photo!)

Stars (with masking)

LIM theme this week is masking with "white space and a clean and simple design"

I used an ancient textured brayer to create the yellow background and then stamped random little red stars using the tiny star stamp from Pennant Parade. The black die-cut star is actually raised on 3D sticky pads but this doesn't come across in the photo, ho-hum!

Tiny Hello Tag

simply-stampin-theme-challenge-51 calls for tags.  I used the "Hello" sentiment from Pennant Parade to make a tiny tag tied with the ribbon.

Then there are lots of layers of card and paper!  I elaborated on the earlier card I made with the Fancy Flower punch aperture - this time cutting apertures out of 2 pieces of Very Vanilla card and then layering them over each other to make a 10-point flower aperture (does this make sense?!...).  Again I raised these top 2 layers of card using 3D sticky pads over a background patterned paper & matted it all on a piece of Calypso Coral.  Re-reading that it all sounds a lot more complicated than it actually was to make!

Triple Treat Flower

Using the current sketch from skipping-stones.  4 strips of SAB paper with the bottoms rounded to complement the rounded card corners, Triple Treat Flower stamped in Lucky Limeade and raised with 3D sticky pads & the sentiment from Just Believe Stamp set in Lucky Limeade matted on a tiny strip of Pool Party.

Posy Punch

Using the just-us-girls-128-color-challenge of pale green, pale pink & cream with  sketch #89 from waltzing mouse.

Incredibly quick & easy card - cutting an aperture with the Fancy Flower punch and using 3D sticky pads to raise the top layer of card over a piece of patterned paper.  Finished off with co-ordinating grosgrain ribbon and rounded corners to complement the rounded flower punch.

SU punch: Fancy Flower Punch, rounded corner punch

Christmas Button Tree

Using the colourq-challenge-128 combo of 3 different greens & grey.  Very quick & easy - just a case of raiding my button box for 3 different greens and sticking them down, and then matting the polka dot embossed card on a co-ordinating piece of green cardstock.  My first Xmas card for 2012!

Bright & Beautiful

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this colour combination from cr84fn - pink, yellow & orange.  It reminds me of a good friend (that's you Catherine!).  The sketch is 118 from skipping stones.

I layered several flowers from the Blossoms Die and used 3D sticky pads to raise the main flower.  I had a play with the sentiment tag and managed to thread it with a thin sliver of Melon Mambo offcut (never throw anything away, that's my motto!)

The light for the photo is pretty lousy (I think it might be time to pack up and think about making some dinner!!!)

Checked Background

Using sketch retrosketches #2 and the colour combo of red, blue, vanilla and crumb cake from simply stampin.  I had a piece of checked background left over from my previous card so seemed a shame not to make use of it! (See previous post for how to replicate this checked background yourself).

I stamped the cake image on Crumb Cake with Versamark and then paper-pieced it on top of my home-made tag for a more realistically-coloured cake.

Put the flags out

Using sketch 181 from cleanandsimple and the colour combo of red, blue, vanilla and crumb cake from simply stampin.

I made my own checked background using the stripes embossing folder and inking it with first Baja Breeze, then rotating the cardstock 90 degrees and doing the same with Poppy parade ink.  For more on this technique see here!  I didn't use any crumb cake cardstock ( I like the LIM look) but the linen thread is the same colour so I hope that counts!

Less is Definitely More!

This has to the quickest, simplest card I have ever made!  Challenge 58 at LIM is for a one layer card with script.  I embossed a shimmery gold card base and added a bit of bling with some rhinestones.

Pastel Bunting

I delved in my scraps box to make this bunting for CAS 181 sketch.  I stamped the bunting using the Pennant Parade stamp set & then did a bit of paper piecing.

Lots of Hearts

Using sketch 19 from fetch-a-sketch

Dead simple - just punched lots of hearts out of different Real Red combinations from my off-cuts stash (plain card stock, embossed cardstock, DSP patterned paper, and stamped textured image with Read Red ink), stuck a piece of acetate behind the apertures and adhered the hearts to the acetate.
