I've just found out I've been chosen as a VIP over at cas-ualfridays for my shimmery-butterflies card.  Wey hey!!

Using the colour combo from theplaydatecafe, sketch #115 from just-add-ink and the Spring Flowers theme from cas-ualfridays.

The underlying saffron-coloured paper is from the Pocketful of Posies DSP and I layered a piece of Rich Razzleberry DSP over the top. I aimed for a "rounded" look - can you tell! ... with the scallopped paper, flower and rounding the corners of the overlapping Rich Razzleberry paper and the bottom of the corners of the card itself!

The flower's leaves are made with the Bird Builder Punch and the centre flower is punched with Boho Blossoms using scraps of ink-splattered paper I had left over from my shimmery-butterflies post.

Based on the sketch at alwaysplayingwithpaper .  Their challenge also insists on a Christmas theme!  This dotty paper from the Pocketful of Posies DSP reminded me of snow, so I teamed it with the snowflake image from the Every Little Bit stamp set & embossed the top half of the card to continue the dotty, snowy theme!

Using handstampedsentiments "SPRING" challenge and sketch inspiration from freshlymadesketches

Another card with the gorgeous vibrant flowery Beyond the Garden DSP papers.  I heat embossed the flowery image from the Just Believe stamp set using clear powder on Whisper White cardstock.  Then I brayered (is this a verb?!) over the top with Daffodil Delight and punched out a circle and matted it on Daffodil Delight cardstock.  Fab how Stampin' Up colour co-ordinates inks and papers so well!

Craft club at school today - we were playing with the Owl Builder Punch and just look how many different ideas we came up with !!!!

Then we pieced them together and came up with these colourful creations.  Fab!

Very quick and easy this one; just a case of finding textured card in the right colours for colourq's #133 and then using my Sizzix star nesties.  The sentiment is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set.  I do prefer it in Basic Grey - looks less harsh than Black.

Using the Moxie Fab World trigger
and Just Us Girls colour combo of hot pink, orange and lime green and CAS sketch CFC49.

I had loads of fun with this one!  Using a piece of oven liner (this has a non-stick surface) I sprayed the yellow and pink inks and daubed on shimmer paint.  Then I laid a piece of white card on top of the splattery mess to colour the card.  It often is rather wet at this stage, so a good tip is to roll a whole roll of kitchen roll over the top to soak up any excess.  The finished card has a pink/orange/shimmery effect (doesn't quite come across in the photo, but it looks lovely honest!).  I then used the Butterfly Wings Embosslits.

Long time, no blog ... sorry!  busy, busy, busy, same old, same old ...
Anyhow, shall see how this lovely peaceful Sunday pans out ...

First up, a masculine card based on this week's sketch from freshlymadesketches.  Once I'd embossed the bottom half of the card with the stripes folder, it reminded me of candles - so I added some silver "flames"!

At first glance, the Nursery Nest DSP papers appear to be all pink, pastels and ideal for baby cards.  However, look a little closer and you'll find several striped and spotty papers ideal for masculine combos.

Another card using the colour combo PDCC126 from theplaydatecafe of blue, green and grey.

Very similar to my card from yesterday (do scroll down for a peek!).  The lighting is poor in the photo (apologies) I was up late playing rather than having an early night!

I love this colour combo - perfect for men's cards - I also returned to one of my fave stamps for masculine cards (the star stamp from the Sprinkled Expressions set)

This came about after messing up my first attempt at the previous post entry.  I'd smudged a couple of the mini stars & wasn't happy with it.

Waste not, want not as they say.  Over at moxiefabworld they have a paper scraps challenge.  So I combined my original failed card design with a strip of paint tester colours and some butterfly embosslits.  I think this card turned out way better than my original idea!

Colour combo PDCC126 over at theplaydatecafe is blue, green and grey - I've combined this with the April sketch from Woodware.

Another entry for sketch #249 at stamping411.  Incredibly simple to make - I just punched 4 tiny hearts from the centres of 4 pieces of SAB paper, then added a wee heart to the centre of each square.
