Vellum Butterflies

Stampin Up Papillon Potpourri

Using this week's SketchSaturday.

AddictedToCAS wants embossing, JAI wants us to use the Bigshot and FlutterByWednesday wants predominantly white.

Stampin Up Papillon Potpourri, Woodgrain Embossing Folder

I opened my new woodgrain embossing folder - i thought it needed something flora or fauna to complement it & finally settled on Papillon Potpourri. A couple of embossed vellum butterflies & glitter finished it off.

It's still snowing here!

Perfect Postage Heart

Stampin Up Perfect Postage

Using the RedHotStampers' sketch and DynamicDuos colour scheme of red & black. AddictedToCAS wants to see embossing.

Stampin Up Perfect Postage

I stamped the Perfect Postage stamp with Versamark, then used "Heat & Stick" powder. This does exactly what it says on the pot! Once heated it becomes v sticky & you can sprinkle glitter (or whatever takes your fancy) onto it.

The tiny punched hearts are from the Owl Builder punch.

Thanks for popping by!

2013 Desk Calendar

A quick & easy desk calendar using the Every Little Bit stamp set. There are loads of images in this set with plenty of ideas for all months and occasions.

If you would like to have a go, the dimensions are as follows:

Piece of card stock 9.5" x 3.5", scored lengthways at 4.75"

Turn the strip over and score at 3.75"

Rotate the strip 180 degrees and score again at 3.75"

You should then be able to fold your scored card strip to make a W shape. The bulldog clip holds the 11 months in waiting inside with the current month showing.

Once I've worked out how to upload documents to Blogger, I'll give a link to the 2013 calendar template I made!

Hope you're having a good weekend

Hello Doily

Stampin Up Hello Doily,

Using this week's sketch from SketchSaturday and the Crafts4Eternity "moody blues" theme.

Affection Collection

Some snippets for Pixie.

I like using "patterned" stamps for backgrounds for punched shapes. Here I used the large stamp from the Affection Collection stamp set to punch out the butterfly.

January is a time for lots of celebration (and cakes!) in our household - we have 3 birthdays!

First up is my husband so a suitably masculine colour way and CAS card for him.

Now to decide what flavour birthday cake to bake ... Current favourite is Coca Cola cake, or possibly Gingerbread. Mind you I recently saw a recipe for Caramel & Pecan cake that I fancied trying ...Decisions, decisions ...

SAB is coming soon ...

Using the sketch from RetroSketches. Let'sCraft&Create wants projects with buttons. StampinForTheWeekend has anything goes. The cue word at Casology is "new".

This stamp is from a set that is so new it is not yet available for sale! Suffice to say that Stampin Up's annual SaleABration starts on 21 January and you can get your hands on the complete stamp set then.

The washi tape is also 'new' for me; granted the trend has been around for a while now but I only recently got around to buying some!

Desk Calendar

Stampin Up 2 tags die, mini desk calendar, printable calendar, Papillon Potpourri

ABCchallenges wants to see some embossing, LadyBugCrafts and Sparkles want anything but a card and InkSpireMe wants something for the New Year!

Here's a 2013 desk calendar I made using the Two Tags Die.

If you'd like to have a go, I've included the template for the monthly inserts at the end of this post. You will need a strip of card approx 9" x 7.5". I scored the card piece at 4.5", then folded it in half and placed it just above the cut line for the large Two Tags Die. If you don't have this, worry not, just use the strip of card as is.
Once you have cut out the shape, fold it back on itself and score another 2 lines 0.5" on either side of this central crease. It should then look like this.
I embossed it for extra interest and added a couple of stamped butterflies. Make sure you slide one of the monthly inserts in before gluing the butterflies down to leave enough room!
A piece of ribbon holds the two top edges together.
Click on the photo below to download the calendar. It prints onto an A4 sheet. Not yet done - will do as soon as I can!
